Can you reuse ear probe covers?
Choose thermometers that are easy for you to use. Use a new disposable cover for each use; do not reuse disposable covers. If you don’t have a cover, clean the thermometer after each use as advised by the manufacturer.
Can I use ear thermometer without cover?
The ear thermometer is calibrated with a probe cover intact. If the cover is missing or broken, the thermometer will register a high reading. As the infrared sensor is extremely sensitive to conductive heat forces, it can be affected by the heat from the ear canal walls.
